“Work with yourself, not against yourself. “
My favourite song a few years ago was “Be kind to yourself” by Andrew Peterson. This song deeply touched my soul and helped me during moments of panic attacks and restlessness. I used to listen to it over and over.
Over the years, I’ve learned to love my “enemy” and become friends with myself. I changed the way I talk to myself and be kinder to myself. I used to be hard on myself because I wanted to see progress and heal quickly. But I’ve learned there’s no clear moment when you wake up, and like magic, think,“I’m healed”. No, healing is a process – and sometimes, you’re already healed without even realising it.
You’re exactly where you’re meant to be.Take as much time as you need, and believe in yourself. Trust that bad days will soon past, and soon enough, you’ll feel happy again.
